Why do we Love College Football

College Football brings a special something to the forefront of our culture that isn’t found in many places. Some of the greatest traditions in the country are followed every Saturday from late August to early January. Whether it’s touching the rock, dotting the I, or marching in with fellow Army or Navy cadets and midshipmen, College Football offers a pageantry that isn’t matched in this magnitude.

In addition, the sport also unites people around a common interest. Football allegiances align with the geographic and cultural boundaries that define us as a country. Everything from morning tailgating to the thrill of victory and agony of defeat is shared with neighbors. It brings us together

It’s also very personal. Walking into a stadium of 70, 80, 90 or 110 thousand people sit down to watch 200 eighteen to twenty two year old kids play football. For most of these kids, they’re living out their dreams. Most College Football players aren’t going to make it to the NFL, and every weekend you see each one of them leaving their heart and soul on the field.

We share in our love thanks to the War Eagles, the Jump Arounds, the “MEEEECHIGANs,” the Hook’Ems, the Hakkas, and all of the other ritualistic ceremonies that make us feel part of the team.
